Commuting on the region's only passenger rail has a new look in Mt. Juliet.
The Business Journal recently toured the Vintage Station North development, located at the Mt. Juliet stop of the region's WeGo Star commuter line (formerly named Music City Star). The development includes 192 apartments in four-story brick buildings, as well as 28 townhomes and almost 30 office suites for lease. Red Bicycle is opening a coffee shop.
Vintage Station North is located along the train tracks for WeGo Star, a 32-mile line that runs east-west, from Lebanon to downtown Nashville. The development welcomed its first tenants in December, shortly after WeGo unveiled refurbished rail cars (painted with WeGo's purple hue) and an expanded parking lot at the Mt. Juliet stop.
The development is the kind of commercial real estate activity along rail or bus lines that's needed to boost ridership on the region's public transit and support a potential expansion of that service.
