Nashville-based developer MiKeN Development is targeting a September groundbreaking for the next building at The Annex project long underway in West Nashville's Charlotte Park.
To be called The Arcade at The Annex — the third element of the four-phase development — the roughly $12 million mixed-use building will feature 60 for-rent units and some commercial space. Michael Kenner, MiKeN's founder, said the company is working with Mayor John Cooper’s office and Metro Councilmember-at-large Burkley Allen to secure a payment in lieu of taxes via Metro’s Industrial Development Board.
“If the PILOT is successful, we can set aside 18 of the 60 units as attainable housing,” said Kenner, adding that The Arcade will include two live-work units and 58 residential flats with a combination of bedroom numbers. In addition, The Arcade will have about 1,000 square feet of for-lease commercial space.
